Execution Signal is a newsletter written and operated by Jesus Romero. This page explains what personal information the newsletter collects, why, who it goes to, and how you can get it back or have it removed. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Who is responsible for your information

When you subscribe. Your email address, which is required. Your first and last name, if you choose to provide them. Nothing else is asked for.
When you read an issue. Whether the email was opened, and which links you clicked. This comes from a small tracking image embedded in the email. If your email client blocks remote images, the open is not recorded.
When you visit executionsignal.com. Standard web request data including your IP address, browser and device type, the page you arrived from, and the pages you view. This is used in aggregate to see which issues and tools people actually read.
When you download a free resource. The download is recorded against your subscriber record, so I can see which resources are worth making more of.
When you buy a paid product. Payment is processed by Stripe. I receive confirmation of the purchase and the email address tied to it. I never see, receive, or store your card number.
I do not collect sensitive personal information, and I do not ask for anything I have no use for.
To send you the newsletter. This is the core purpose, and it rests on the consent you give when you check the box at signup. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
To understand what is working. Open and click data tells me which issues landed and which did not. This shapes what gets written next. Under the GDPR this rests on legitimate interest: my interest in improving the newsletter, weighed against the fact that the data is behavioural, low sensitivity, and never used to build a profile of you as an individual.
To deliver what you asked for. Templates, checklists, and other resources you requested.
To meet legal obligations. Keeping records of consent and unsubscribe requests, as anti-spam law requires.
I do not sell your information. I do not rent it. I do not share it with advertisers or ad networks, and Execution Signal does not run third-party ad tracking.
beehiiv Inc. The platform that runs the newsletter, the subscriber list, and this website. beehiiv acts as a processor on my behalf, meaning it handles the data under my instructions rather than for its own purposes. beehiiv is headquartered at 228 Park Avenue #2329976, New York, NY 10003, United States.
Stripe. Payment processing for paid products only. Stripe is the controller of your payment card data and handles it under its own privacy policy.
Publications you opt in to. At signup, beehiiv may show you other newsletters I recommend. If, and only if, you tick one of those boxes, your email address is passed to that publication and their privacy policy governs what happens next. Skipping that step shares nothing. You are never subscribed to anything by default.
That is the complete list.
beehiiv is a United States company and processes subscriber data in the United States. Stripe also operates internationally. This means your information is stored and handled outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of those countries and may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities under their legal processes. If you are in the EU or the UK, this is a transfer outside your jurisdiction and relies on the safeguards these providers have in place with their customers.
If you would rather your data not leave Canada, the honest answer is not to subscribe.
The website uses cookies for basic functionality and for measuring how the site is used. A banner appears on your first visit letting you opt out of the non-essential ones. Declining them does not break the site or stop you from subscribing.
Newsletter emails contain a tracking pixel, as described above. Blocking remote images in your email client disables it.
Your subscriber record is kept for as long as you are subscribed.
If you unsubscribe, your email address is moved to a suppression list and kept there. This is deliberate: without it, there is no reliable way to guarantee you are not re-added and mailed again. It is used for nothing else.
If you want your information deleted outright rather than suppressed, ask and I will process it.
Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you can ask me to:
Email [email protected]. I will respond within 30 days, which is the maximum PIPEDA allows. There is no charge.
Deletions and data exports for beehiiv-hosted publications are handled at the platform level, so a request may also be sent to [email protected]. Either route works; sending it to me is simpler and I will handle the platform side.
If you are not satisfied with how I handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the EU or the UK, you may complain to your national data protection authority, or to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.
Every issue has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. It works immediately and stays valid for at least 60 days after the issue is sent, as Canadian anti-spam law requires. No reason needed, no retention offer, no extra steps.
I do not store subscriber data on my own computers. It lives in beehiiv's systems and, for payments, Stripe's, both of which are established platforms with their own security controls. Access to the subscriber list is limited to me.
Execution Signal is written for working professionals and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, email me and I will remove the record.
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted here with a new date at the top. If a change materially affects how your information is used, I will say so in an issue of the newsletter rather than relying on you to notice this page.
